I’m working on trying to get back to a more regular posting format. It’s been a long process of trying to keep updated with games, news, and more importantly, just playing them. Fortunately, I’ve been more active with gaming in the last month, so there’s a bit to write about.

Let’s start with the Gamestop Expo. that was in Las Vegas a few weeks back. I can tell you this much: It was a more than ideal place to gather StreetPass with my 3DS. It was a smaller, consumer oriented E3, but it did showcase the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and this Fall’s games. It also gave me an opportunity to shamelessly mug in some gaming scenarios:

The show was fun, and while it didn’t show anything earth-shatteringly new or exclusive, it did allow the public to get an early hands on for a lot of the upcoming titles this year.

After the Expo wrapped, Nintendo announced the 2DS…. And I thought it was an article from The Onion.

I can’t win. I must be one of the few people in the gaming community who thinks the device is a silly idea, and never had the “eye crippling” experience the 3DS apparently causes some. Saving $40 for the loss of the 3D feature, stereo sound, and the protective hinge just doesn’t justify the price drop, especially when I got my 3DS XL for a close price thanks to a sale at Best Buy, and having lost nothing. I can also see future games that aren’t currently in development as totally abandoning the 3D feature to make it more cross-platform accessible. To me, it shows lack of faith in 3D on Nintendo’s part, and it wouldn’t surprise me if games became less seen in the third dimension a year from now. Besides, I already have a 2DS: I just move the 3D slider to “off”, and voila!

Otherwise, I’ve still been playing Disney Infinity a lot. I’ve bought the add-on packs to extend the life of the game, and hope more is announced after Wave 2 and Toy Story. Toys R Us held a Power Disc trading event this last weekend, and I managed to complete the full set of the Series 1 discs, meaning that I’ll never have to see another extra Alice in Wonderland background disc as long as I live.

I’ve also been playing Bioshock Infinite. I’ll save full commentary for a review, but I can saw that I enjoy this third installment as much as the first two titles. This truly has been a great series. It’s a shame that it has never found its way to a Nintendo platform.

So that’s my latest, and I have a few reviews under my belt, so expect more content soon!
